Four Seasons Resort O‘ahu at Ko Olina by Ethan Tweedie

Recent project images from the Four Seasons Oahu at Ko Olina

The main goal of the three day photoshoot was to capture the unforgettable ocean views from several of the Hotel’s Rooms and Suites.  As you can see, the views from the rooms are stunning, the upper-floor corner room has incredible views from two private balconies of the vast Pacific Ocean! It truly has that wow factor!

We had a great shoot at the Four Seasons and the hospitality of all the staff was just amazing.  We look forward to going back to shoot soon! Mahalo Nui Loa to everyone at the FS Oahu!

Mauna Loa Eruption Images November 29th 2022 by Ethan Tweedie

Day 2 of the Mauna Loa Eruption. These images were taken in the early morning hours off the Saddle Road on the Big Island of Hawaii. This is the first time Mauna Loa has erupted in 38 years. I was a junior in High School in 1984 the last time I witnessed the World’s Largest Active Volcano! If you’d like to see some live video I did while filming this Timelapse head over to my Instagram and give me a follow!

Enjoy!

Frank Lloyd Wright Hawaii by Ethan Tweedie

In 2015 It was my honor to have the opportunity to photograph the only Frank Lloyd Wright home in the State of Hawaii.  Surprisingly I never knew the home existed and to find out it was in my own hometown of Waimea Hawaii was really astounding.

The home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright was an unbuilt project designed in 1954, but shelved until 1984 and finally built in 1995 and was called the Cornwall residence.  The plans were prepared by Taliesin Associated Architects in Scottsdale, Arizona who are affiliated with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and the only entity authorized to oversee the construction of Frank Lloyd Wright’s unbuilt projects. The project was built by local builder Hans Torweihe and some recent interior design work by Willman Interiors.

The home sits on close to 3 acres right on a bluff over looking Keanuiomano Stream and in the distance looms the amazing views of Mauna Kea Volcano, Mauna Loa Volcano and Hualalai Volcano.  The property takes full advantage of some of the best views on the Big Island.

The home is privately owned, but they do allow the home to be rented for vacationers or Frank Lloyd Wright enthusiasts.  Here is the VRBO link

Hana Maui Resort by Ethan Tweedie

Mani Brothers Real Estate Group, the owners of the Hana Maui Resort, recently finished the renovations of the first of many Hale/Bungalows. These images document the “Island Elegance” of the spaces photographed. I have added a few behind the scene images from our private airplane ride over to Hana from Waimea on the Big Island.

Lava Lake | Kilauea Volcano | Milky Way | Hawaii Volcanoes National Park by Ethan Tweedie

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island is home to the World’s Most Active Volcano Kilauea which is an amazing back drop to shoot the Milky Way because of the glowing Lava Lake at the summit.

On August 20th 2022 we decided to photography the Milky Way at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.  I chose this particular evening because the moon wouldn’t rise till around 12:30am giving us plenty of time to see the night sky and the Lava Lake in all its glory without the light of the Moon washing out the sky.

Image 1, taken just after sunset you can begin to see the Milky Way on the far left and the glow of the Lava Lake getting brighter.  Eventually it got pitch black and they Milky Way moved into position right over the Lava Lake as seen in Image 2.  In image 3 you can see some clouds drifting by glowing from the Lava Lake below! It was an amazing 5 hours watching the scene unfold!

If you would like to see the Time Lapse I made and posted earlier in the week go here Milky Way Time Lapse

I hope you enjoy!
